Many people say marvel has fallen off since endgame. But has it?
Which projects failed and which didn’t? and why.
The first to come out after endgame was Elizabeth Olsen as scarlet witch and Paul Bettany’s Vision in WandaVision. Many online reviews praise this show for its stunning visuals and well written characters. I personally gave it a 9.5/10 due to the fact that scarlet witch is one of my favorite characters in the MCU and I hope she returns for
doomsday in 2026.
After WandaVision there were many more that people loved including.
Falcon and the Winter Soldier starring Anthony Mackie as Falcon/Captain America and Sebestian Stan as Bucky Barnes (another of my favorite characters) people enjoyed how entertaining it was but did not enjoy the plot.
Thunderbolts starring Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and Sebestian stan as Bucky Barnes. This is one that I will review personally as I gave it its own hype level with me saying “I got thunderbolts level hype” after watching the superman movie by James Gunn, and also adding that this one was good I watched it 3 times in theatres and 1 as soon as it came to streaming services.
Hawkeye starring Jermey Renner as Hawkeye and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. Many enjoyed that Hawkeye was able to get his own show and also enjoyed Kate Bishop being there to show a young avengers project could come out some time.
Moon knight starring Oscar Issac as Moonknight, Mr knight and, Marc Spector (he also played spiderman 2099 in the spider-verse movies and apocalypse in X-men apocalypse) and May Calamawy as Layla El-Faouly. Reviewers say they went into Moon knight thinking it would be just more slop for post-endgame marvel but were pleasantly surprised at how good it was, and how much action was in the show.
Now, onto the projects people didn’t particularly enjoy.
Eternals starring Angelina Jolie as Thena, Salma Hayek as Ajak, and Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo. People said that it was visually stunning, but some people also said that “eternal was the runtime” – view_and_review alluding to its 2 hour and thirty-six-minute runtime. and that “it was pretty much lifeless with boring actors playing boring characters” – Sir_AmirSyarif.
Thor Love and Thunder starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster/Mighty Thor, and Christian bale as Gorr the God Butcher. Many say that it had “forced comedy and a wasted villain.” – Czereth. Another said that it was “too silly, that it feels like its own parody.” – gy-att. I personally have not seen Eternals or Thor 4, but I will watch them before Doomsday just in case the set up in them becomes useful later on.

She-Hulk Starring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/ Hulk. To cut to the chase and make it short. People HATED this show with some saying, “It’s an insult that marvel calls this a comedy.” - andrewcan. and “Do you like a show about nothing where nothing happens.” – slackator. This is one of these four projects that I watched and that I enjoyed, I watched the whole show in one sitting, and I was beaming with excitement the entire time.
Antman and the Wasp Quantamania starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Antman, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne/Wasp, and Katherine Newton as Cassie Lang/Stature. People have said “I’m pretty sure this was written by fifth graders.”- Top_Dawg_Critic. and “the marvel studios conveyer belt of quantity over quality continues.” – poseyfan. This was the first marvel movie I saw in theatres and at the time I enjoyed it and its connection to Kang the Conqueror but now looking back I think I was blinded by the fact it was the first marvel movie I saw in theatres.
Inconclusion I believe that marvel has returned from its 2020-2023 fall off with projects such as Thunderbolts* and Fantastic four but people also think there are some bad ones like captain America brave new world and Ironheart, both of which I personally really enjoyed. But I have a good feeling for marvel going forward with next years Spider-man Brand New Day and Doomsday, and the movies of 2027 with Spider-man Beyond the Spider-verse and Secret wars.

So, where does the MCU really go from here? Can it ever reach the heights of Endgame? What is it about that 10+ year run that was so magical? THe charactors and the actors that portrayed them worked. The Long-term planning towards Endgame was fresh and a novelty in movie planning. But will it work again? Doomsdad looks intersting, but I doubt it will have the clout or buzz that came with the original story arcto Endgame. Does the MCU thrive, by repeating a tried and true formula of strong actors, but now minor characters (in comporasion to origrinal ones), or looking again at original story-telling. What is their new success to look like?
