Lego - is the price of creativity becoming Too high?

Many call Lego the building block of creativity. But nowadays it should be known as the building block of breaking the bank.

Back in the early 2000s Lego had begun failing and were almost out of money but then they decided to make the first licenced Lego sets, Lego Star Wars, Lego star wars saved Lego from certain bankruptcy and it went good for a while but now Lego star wars might be the cause of their bankruptcy with prices going up and up an example is new $1300 death star for 9023 pieces. The craziest part is that it is only a slice of the death star not a full circle or even a half circle.

This helped it earn the nickname the death slice. Many of the more expensive sets these days are targeted towards adults and can mostly only be bought by adults and kids with lots of money due to prices.

Like the Avengers tower that released in November 2023 for $750  I bought it 3 months after it came out and I really enjoy it but I feel it was very expensive and should’ve come with more exclusive minifigures and it is not very accurate to the movies it in.

Some sets have still stayed in a decent price range like Lego city and Lego Ninjago and that’s good for people who want to build cities using city sets, I personally don’t collect either of those, but they do look pretty cool.

In conclusion, Some Lego prices are getting too high while some stay in a good area. I think Lego should ask their fans more about what they think so that prices can stay fair and the next generation can keep being creative.
